July 12, 2010

What an amazing day in the house of the Lord!  We worshiped yesterday in our newly renovated Worship Center and it was an incredible testament to God’s faithfulness.  Pastor Mel presented  Rev. Irvin Pearre and his wife, Euphemia, with a pew from from the previous Worship Center.  Pastor Mel then asked Irvin to pray over those from our next generation who have been called by God into full time ministry.  Dr. Charles Carter and Margaret were also presented a pew.  Dr. Carter then spoke passionately about his love for our church and for our Lord.  The choir and orchestra were in full force as we praised God through music.  Pastor Mel then challenged us to examine what captures our hearts.  We are so thankful to all those who had a part in this entire process.  It has been great to see the Body of Christ work together as a team towards a common goal.

Sunday, July 11 – Worship Center Dedication

June 4, 2010

Mark your calendars for Dedication Sunday, July 11.  It will be a very special time in the life of our church as we dedicate our renovated Worship Center and thank God for His work in our church.  Dr. Charles Carter, our Pastor Emeritus, will be here, and other events are also planned for that day.  We will have a commemorative item for everyone in attendance.

Our front office reception area is now complete.  You can see Linda Bourque behind a beautiful new desk with the verse “For the love of Christ compels us…” 2 Cornithians 5:14 on the wall behind her.  Linda does an amazing job as our Church Receptionist.  The Music Staff is moving back into the Music Suite this week.  Choir rehearsal will move back to the Choir Room this Wednesday, May 19th!!!   You will also see that the seating is almost complete in the Worship Center.  It is exciting to see everything coming together.  We praise God for what He is doing.

So much has happened in the Worship Center.  It is so exciting to see the carpet and flooring down.  They also began to drill holes for the seats and put in the arms that separate each chair.  Make sure to check out Pastor Mel’s BLOG and get his updates.

Things are really starting to take shape in the Worship Center.  We are going to be very selective in the pictures that we place on the blog from now on.  We want to preserve the “WOW” factor when we move back in.  We will still give updates and let you know how things are progressing, and we will show some pictures.  We appreciate all of the loyal followers who keep up with our blog.  Remember to check out Pastor Mel’s blog also.
